Descriptive Geometry Assignment (Due Wednesday, November 30)
Descriptive Geometry files
Descriptive Geometry Video
I want to begin by saying this is a practice test. The real test will be coming up shorttly.
If you follow the directions and learn 3 simple steps, you will find this assignments and coming test
one of the easiest test that you could possibly take with a sure 100.
Download the zipped folder from the link above. Before you do anything, please extract the folder.
Otherwise, you will have difficulty saving the assignment after you have completed the work, and that will be
very frustrating to have to start all over again. Of course, doing it a second or third time will reinforce the
simple procedures and assure you a good grade on the test. So, if you do not want to extract the folders
and you would prefer doing the assignment 2 or 3 times, you are more than welcome.
In the folder you will find 4 documents; a word document, a spreadsheet answer sheeet, an Inventor Part file (.ipt),
and an Inventor drawing file (.idw). Read the word document first. This is a help file and list the 3 steps and explains
what is happening during each step. Also, it list some terms and abreviations that I will be using. There is also a video
on my website that will explain the procedure. If you have difficulty getting the right answers, you can send me the
drawing file and briefly explain the difficulty you are having and I will get back with you as quickly as I can.
Gear Assignment (Due Wednesday, December 7)
Pictures and Files
Gear Terminology Video
Gear Parameters Video
Gear Construction Video
Gear iPart Video
The first link is important documents that will help you understand the terminology. The next link is a video
that will give you an actual gear and explain the terminology in a clearer way. The next 3 videos will be used to
construct the gear. As you will see, the entire project is made of formulas with really only one major parameter and
that is the number of teeth the gear has. Change this number and the entire model will be recalculated and built.
